The second edition returns to Barcelona from 28 to 30 October 2026, in a single auditorium and with no parallel sessions.
Why Barcelona
Barcelona was chosen for its solid record in ocean science research, backed by institutions of standing such as the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) and an outstanding university ecosystem, with the University of Barcelona and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
That convergence of scientific institutions, public commitment, infrastructure and maritime tradition makes the city the right setting to catalyse the international collaborations that ocean recovery requires. Anchoring the SeaWilding Conference in Barcelona is a strategic decision for the 2026-2030 period.
The venue
Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta, 37-49 · 08003 BarcelonaThe SeaWilding Conference 2026 takes place at the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC), in its auditorium, the Salón de Actos.
This is not a logistical choice. The ICM is one of the institutions behind Barcelona's record in ocean science, and holding the conference in its own building places the conversation where the science we discuss is done.
The Salón de Actos seats 150, so places are limited.
Getting there
— Metro: line L4, Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica station, 300 metres away.
— Bus: lines 59, 45, 92, 71 and V21, with their terminus a few metres away.
— Train: from Sants, Clot or Passeig de Gràcia, take line L4 to Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica.
— Car: Ronda del Litoral, exit 21 towards Besòs or exit 22 towards Llobregat.
