The second edition of the SeaWilding Conference takes 'An ocean with rights: from knowledge to transformative action' as its central theme. Over three days, Barcelona hosts a single auditorium, with no parallel sessions, tracing the path from ocean-as-object to ocean-as-subject.
The programme is structured with the IPBES Transformative Change framework as its guide and the Rights of the Ocean as its horizon, in dialogue with animal ethics and law. Each day is built around a question: what do we need to transform?, from the why to the how, and who is responsible?
The conference brings together the six sectors of SeaWilding's network —citizen representation, public, private, knowledge, communication and culture, and financial and philanthropic— and aspires to a final declaration on the ocean as a subject of rights.
